Sup Kids! BPM #60 started with a simple idea.
Take the energy of a trance event, drop it inside a massive fantasy online game, and build a set that felt like stepping into another world for a couple of hours.
The setting was virtual, but the mix was approached like a real night behind the decks. I wanted atmosphere at the beginning, emotion early, a strong classic trance section in the middle, and then a final run that kept pushing harder until the end.
The opening stretch is patient.
Aaron Hibell’s “I Feel Lost” sets the tone before Cold Blue’s remix of Billie Eilish’s “No Time To Die” brings in that cinematic vocal energy. From there, the set begins opening up through Cold Blue, Chris Metcalfe, Oliver Smith, David Forbes, Sue McLaren, and Solarstone.
This part of the mix is less about immediately hammering the listener and more about building the room. Long melodies, emotional vocals, rolling basslines, and tracks that feel like they are pulling you deeper into the night.
Then BPM #60 reaches back.
Yahel and Eyal Barkan’s “Voyage,” Jan Johnston’s “Flesh,” and The Roc Project’s “Never” bring the sound directly back to the early 2000s. These records are part of the trance foundation I came from, and they still hit just as hard today when placed in the right part of a modern set.
The centerpiece is Gamemaster.
The ZAA remix has been floating around as an unreleased version, including support from Paul Oakenfold, and it became the perfect bridge between the classic section and the heavier second half of the mix.
From that point forward, the energy continues climbing.
The Thrillseekers, Darren Porter, Sean Tyas, Allen Watts, John Askew, David Forbes, Sneijder, Will Rees, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Signum carry the final stretch with the kind of driving 140 BPM trance that BPM was built around.
BPM #60 is emotional, nostalgic, melodic, and aggressive when it needs to be.
It is a mix that connects the music I played more than twenty years ago with the music being released right now. The technology has changed. The platforms have changed. The rooms have changed.
The reason I still do this has not.
I still love building the journey. Built on passion. Driven by sound.
I Bring you BPM #60 Live from Azeroth!
