Sup Kids
A few weeks ago I was doom scrolling TikTok and this video pops up from an OG raver from back in our era, and she says, “If you were raving in 2005, this one’s for you…” Then the piano from Love Theme Dusk hit.
Bruh.
Instantly transported. Big pants. Massive tunes. That late night trance emotion. That feeling where one breakdown could completely hijack your soul for 7 minutes straight. If you were out there in 2005, you already know. That track hit some real OG raver feels and right then I knew I had to find a way to work it into the next BPM release.
So this mix became exactly that. BPM #56 is an all 138 ride. Not a go-hard-for-no-reason set. Not a scream at the wall set. This one is an OG Trance set. The kind of journey you would have found back in the day when trance had that emotional pull, that lift, that drive, that hands in the air at 2AM magic. A proper 90 min Headliner set! The difference now is I wove in a bunch of more modern releases with the ’05 crowd, and honestly… they sit together way better than you might think.
That was the whole vibe here. I wanted this set to feel like you stepped into a tunnel where 2005 meets now. Classic energy. Modern production. Uplifting melodies. Clean 138 pressure all the way through. No fluff. No weird left turns. Just that proper trance feeling.
The flow on this one was super intentional too. It starts out melodic and inviting, builds into that driving uplift, leans into some classic power, then opens up into that emotional pocket where Love Theme Dusk really gets to do its thing. From there it keeps climbing and glowing instead of just smashing everything into the red. That was important to me. This mix was never supposed to be about going the hardest. It was supposed to feel like a proper journey.
And honestly, that is what BPM was always about for me.
Some mixes are for the club.
Some are for the gym.
Some are for the late night drive.
This one is for the OG ravers. This one is for the people who remember when trance could wreck you emotionally in the best way possible. For the ones who heard one piano line and got sent all the way back. For the ones who still want that euphoric rush without losing the soul of it. I bring to you the next installment of the BPM Series. BPM #56! 138 BPM all the way. Lesssgooo.
