Happy Birthday djskott.com – 25 Years

Sup kids!

On February 1, 2026, djskott.com turns 25 years old.
Yeah… 25. That’s not “old website” that’s internet archaeology.

Back in the wild-west era (dial-up screams, Winamp skins, rave flyers, burned CDs), this site was basically a digital home base for the whole DJ Skott universe mixes, updates, random scene nonsense, and whatever we were building that week. And the crazy part is… I never stopped. I just kept evolving.

I didn’t build the first versions alone either. My good friend Tim Ward (DotCom Marketing Group Inc.) took on the original site and version 2 as a showcase project for his web design business. Back then it wasn’t just “make a page” it was like building a whole little universe online. Over the years after that, I kept updating the code myself like some half-caffeinated early-2000s hacker… copy paste, tweak, break it, fix it, repeat. If you know, you know.

Before streaming was “normal,” before socials ate the world, I was already chasing the same thing: the vibe. In the mid 90’s that’s how Beats Per Minute (BPM) got rolling on WHSN 89.3 FM in Bangor, Maine. Real-deal radio, dance music loud, building a lane when it wasn’t exactly popular to do it. Then in the early days of web audio and shoutcast life, the mission kept going! Streaming trance and building what became the “BPM” channel vibe.

And now here we are: modern djskott.com, WordPress blog archives, Twitch/YouTube replays, fresh mixes, and the same stupid smile when the kick lands. Same heart, different tools. Still me.

25 years of DJ Skott online

If you wanna time-travel and see the old school versions, hit the Wayback Machine and search these:

djskott.com/
djskott.com/1/
djskott.com/blog/

That’s where you’ll find the old snapshots ,different layouts, different eras, different “me”… same heartbeat. (2007 and 2008 were boring btw coff coff hiatus started)

(And if you’ve never used it, the Wayback Machine is literally built for this, punch in the URL, pick a year/date, and boom you’re back in time.)

Real talk

If you’ve been around since the early days: thank you.
If you just found the site last year: welcome to the madness.
If you’re one of the people who’s listened, shared, commented, downloaded, showed love at a show, or just lurked quietly you’re part of the history too.

Drop your favorite old screenshot in the comments (Wayback finds count). Let’s see who can dig up the most cursed early-2000s layout. Bonus points if it looks like it was designed at 2am after a show.

So here to another 25-years of djskott.com. Keep it locked in and I’ll catch you on the Flip.
